Students and their families were able to shop the book fair, visit the East Baton Rouge Parish Library Bookmobile, participate in various literacy activities, and more! Thank you to Ms. Lakvold and Ms. Clare for organizing this fun learning event! Also, we are so thankful for the teachers, parent volunteers, and community organizations for their involvement in making this event such a huge success!

]]><![CDATA[WHAM PTO FALL SOCIAL]]>Mon, 30 Sep 2024 19:37:25 GMThttps://www.westdaleheights.com/home/wham-pto-fall-socialWHAM has such a special school community that is truly a family…or as we say, a WHAMily!

Our PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) hosts two social events every school year; one in the fall and one in the spring. The fall social was held Friday night, and it was a blast!

We celebrated the first birthday of our mascot, Hopper, by signing his birthday shirt, playing games, decorating cupcakes, singing, eating cake and just enjoying each other’s company! Hopper didn’t open gifts because all he wanted for his birthday was for his guests to bring donations for the Baton Rouge Food Bank. He got his wish! Three large boxes of donated items will be delivered this week, and Hopper is thrilled!

Thank you to WHAM PTO and parent volunteers who made this event possible and successful! Your hard work is greatly appreciated! Also, we want to send out a thank you to the families that joined us at the fall social. We were so happy to see all of you there!
